Tho­mas and Mar­ten (Tur­bo­staat) have been making music tog­e­ther sin­ce 2005, their pro­ject is cal­led Ninamarie.
„Feu­er in der Nach­bar­schaft“ was released in 2013 and has not been available for about six years. The 12″ is now being reis­sued in a small edi­ti­on as a 180gr. LP with pos­ter insert re-pressed.
„Das Hoch­zeits­ge­schenk“ and „Lei­chen zu Cok­tails““ are among the slight­ly older tre­asu­res – „A gre­at evening!“ recalls Mar­ten and Yes!, Sur­vi­val can sound so good and haun­ting that you want to hang on. Right after that we land into „Süß­afri­ka“, an instru­men­tal excur­si­on and at one point a rather som­ber num­ber. But then Tho­mas‘ flu­te tea­cher Mila Mor­gen­stern came in good-humo­red­ly with his flu­te into the game and doom beca­me eth­nic rock in a flash. Mila, bey­ond any musi­cal doubt, may for­gi­ve us: flu­te on a punk rock label cost us some effort. But Ninamarie’s sove­reign „A must“ allo­wed no hesi­ta­ti­on. Final­ly, let’s strip almost pixie­es­que earth rock with syn­the­si­zer, becau­se „Der Orts­obers­te“ dri­ves us down­right befo­re him, fas­ter and fas­ter, until we still quick­ly catch our breath in „33 Run­den“. Thanks to Masha Qrel­la, as char­ming as she accom­pa­nies the young man with her vocals through all the rounds. We feel remin­ded of Vel­vet Under­ground in the best way.
